Paul_Cézanne – Mont Sainte-Victoire
Paul Cézanne (1839-1906), a French post-impressionist painter, is mostly famous for his landscapes and still lifes, but this exhibition at the Royal Academy in London, covers his portraits.
His work stays between Impressionism and new art styles of the 20th century, Expressionism and Cubism in particular. His style, the same on all his works, consists of a delicate observation of the subject, implementing small brush strokes of pure colors, into the painting which is more geometrically solid than impressionists’ ones.
